About Us
I have been intrigued with woodworking since boyhood. I always had the sense growing up that my father was a master craftsman. He had learned the age old craft in the wood shop and ignited a fire in my own heart. This all lay dormant until I became engaged to a young lady I had fallen in love with. Somehow, my newfound love rekindled the old flame of woodworking. With the small collection of tools in my father’s old barn, I set to work making my wife-to-be an engagement gift – an oak porch swing. The porch swing has since worn and deteriorated with age, by my love for the craft has not subsided.
Through the years I have built many custom furniture pieces for friends and our own home. I started Chosen Stones with a two-fold desire, to build functional handcrafted items and to pass along valuable skills to my children. Along with building heirloom quality items, I have a purpose to build character and pass on the craft of woodworking to my children. We take great satisfaction knowing that each board we create will bring many years of useful service. We each take great satisfaction in creating a great product. We strive for excellence in workmanship in everything we build.
